Days of Malaise is a photographic record of Milwaukee and Waukesha counties between 1975 and 1982-a period marked by a subdued resilience despite pervasive uncertainty and detachment. About The Author

Pagel, Paul Stanley: - Paul Stanley Pagel is a Wisconsin photographer and writer. In his late teens and early 20s, he worked as a photographer, research assistant, and editor, contributing to notable publications such as Places of Worship-Milwaukee (1977) and Downtown Milwaukee (1978). His work was also featured in the traveling exhibition Milwaukee: Self Portrait (1979). Living in Milwaukee from 1975 to 1982, Pagel focused on capturing the essence of people, places, and events during this transformative period, which he explores in his book, Days of Malaise.
