Through the lens of Grateful Dead photographer Jay Blakesberg, the book vividly portrays the dynamic synergy among original Grateful Dead members Bobby Weir, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, with the addition of John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane. The images capture the electrifying on and offstage band camaraderie along with the psychedelic swirl of the entire Grateful Dead experience. Additionally, there is a wonderful selection of photographs of the Deadheads who have been on this Journey beginning many decades ago and right up to the final touring dates in San Francisco in July 2023. The images seen in this book capture the essence of Dead & Company and their fans mission to keep the Grateful Dead's music and legacy alive. It features 100's of images that showcase each member's unique contribution to the band's timeless songbook and help tell the story of this "band beyond description." The book includes a foreword written by original Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart along with short captions and a closing essay by the photographer (Jay Blakesberg) who has been documenting the Grateful Dead experience for over 45 years. Rainbow Full of Sound is a visual celebration of the band's journey, offering viewers a glimpse into the ongoing Grateful Dead magic that has kept this multigenerational cosmic family together throughout the years.

Blakesberg, Jay: - Jay Blakesberg is a San Francisco based photographer who has published 16 coffee table books of his music photography. He has been photographing the Grateful Dead experience for 46 years. He is one of the highest profile Grateful Dead photographer's today. Over the last 3 years he has had two full museum retrospectives of his photography.
