Marilyn Varadi was an educator, columnist, and psychologist. With her significant other, Chick Rudy, she established the Varadi Ovarian Initiative for Cancer Education (VOICE). Its mission is to raise awareness about ovarian and other gynecologic cancers; provide support and outreach programs for women and their families; enhance the diagnostic understanding of ovarian cancer by the medical community; and encourage legislators to support funding for research and education.
