Dr. Ute Karnahl ist Biochemikerin, Systemische Sozialpädagogin und Feldenkrais-Pädagogin. Sie faszinierten schon immer Psyche und Pädagogik sowie deren biologische Basis. Um auf dem aktuellen Stand zu bleiben, hat sie Neuerungen in der Wissenschaft verfolgt und ein zweites Studium als Systemische Sozialpädagogin abgeschlossen. Ihr besonderes Interesse gilt der Neurobiologie unseres Verhaltens und deren Einfluss auf unseren inneren Zustand, auf Wohlbefinden und Gesundheit sowie dem Einfluss von Kultur auf die Gehirnprozesse. Seit jeher leiten sie in ihrer Arbeit Wissensdurst und die Neugier auf Menschen in ihren verschiedenen Kontexten und Systemen. Besonders reizt sie die Umsetzung von Theorie, also von wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen in praktisch verwertbares anwendbares Wissen für Entwicklungsprozesse. Ihr Arbeitsschwerpunkt liegt seit nunmehr 20 Jahren in Beratung und Coaching sowie der Entwicklungsbegleitung von Babys und Eltern. Ihre Arbeitsweise ist sowohl wissenschaftlich fundiert als auch praktisch erfahrungsorientiert in der Verbindung von kognitivem und körperbasiertem Lernen. Darüber hinaus ist sie als Weiterbildnerin vor allem zu den Themen "Neurobiologie und Lernen" bzw. "Neurobiologie von Liebe und Gesundheit" tätig. Immer wieder tauchen Fragen von Klienten nach den Ursachen von Beziehungsproblemen, Bindungsängsten, aber auch Stress-Krankheiten auf und immer mehr Menschen stellen Fragen nach den kulturellen Ursachen dafür. Das sind Fragen, die die Autorin beruflich, aber auch als Frau und Mutter in unserer Kultur bewegen. Sie ist ihnen nachgegangen und hat den Zusammenhang von Biologie und Kultur untersucht. Daraus entstand die Motivation zum vorliegenden Buch. Es wird nach den biologischen Bedingungen für gelingende Beziehungen und Gesundheit gefragt und Antworten bzw. Anregungen für die Zukunft gegeben. Sie entwickelt Lösungen, wie das (Über)leben der biologischen Art Mensch und der Umwelt um uns herum gelingen kann. Ute Karnahl ist verheiratet und hat zwei erwachsene Kinder.
