About The Book

Der Plan, das vorliegende Bueh zu schreiben, entstand wahrend des letzten Krieges, als ieh am Bau eines groBen Dampfkraftwerkes und eines groBen Hoehdruckwasserkraftwerkes beteiligt war. Auch die Mitarbeit an fruheren Projekten und langjahrige Betriebserfahrung gaben Voraussetzungen dafur. Einige Erfahrungen wurden in der nur einem kleinen Personenkreis zuganglich gemachten Schrift "Der Eigenbedarf von Warmekraftwerken" schon vor einigen Jahren niedergelegt. An der Abfassung dieser Schrift waren meine damaligen Mitarbeiter, die Herren Dipl. -lng. G. STARKE und lug. K. FISCHER beteiligt. 1m Herbst 1950 fand ich nun Zeit, das alte Vorhaben durehzufUhren. Die oben genannte kleine Ausarbeitung bildete zunachst den Ausgangspunkt. Nach kurzer Zeit der Bearbeitung sammelte sieh aber eine Fillle von weiterem Material an, dessen Umfang urn ein mehrfaehes uber jenes hinausging, das den Grundstock bildete. Es war mir in dieser Zeit Gelegenheit gegeben, mit zahlreiehen Faeh- kollegen, vor allem aus dem Hause Siemens, Probleme der Eigenbedarfsver- sorgung von Kraftwerken zu diskutieren, oft in Fortsetzung fruherer Zusammen- arbeit auf diesem Gebiet. In diesem Zusammenhang wurden mir zahlreiche Bilder und Zeichnungen uberlassen. Daraus ergaben sich naturgemiiB viele Anregungen, die dem vorliegenden Buch zugute kamen. Auch die Abteilung "Kraftwerke und Kraftubertragung" der Allgemeinen Elektricitats-Gesellschaft uberlieB mir auBerordentlieh umfangreiches und wertvolles Material. Unterlagen fUr die Bearbeitung yon Teilaufgaben lieferten ferner die Rohren- und Gleieh- richterfabrik der AEG, die Firma Voith, Brown, Boveri & Cie und einige Unter- nehmen, die groBe Kraftwerke betreiben. Letztere legten aber Wert darauf, nicht namentlich erwiihnt zu werden.
