Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 1998 im Fachbereich Romanistik - Hispanistik, Note: 1,0, Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck (Romanistik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Englisch und Spanisch, weltweit die zwei Sprachen mit den meisten muttersprachlichen Sprechern nach dem Chinesischen, üben in unserer Gesellschaft einen gro en Einflu aus. Während der wenig bedeutende spanische Einflu auf das Englische noch wenig untersucht wurde, gibt es schon seit geraumer Zeit ein reges Interesse an dem Einflu des Englischen auf das Spanische - und das weitgehend aufgrund kultureller, wirtschaftlicher und technischer Faktoren. Eine der wichtigsten Untersuchungen dieser Art stellt die von Chris Pratt, El anglicismo en el español peninsular contemporáneo(1980), dar, in der er einen Korpus an Anglizismen aus Presse, Fernsehen und Radio zusammengestellt und kategorisiert hat. Diese Arbeit verlangt jedoch, ohne grundsätzlich an Aktualität eingebü t zu haben, nach einer Erweiterung. Bedenkt man, da eine Öffnung Spaniens gegenüber dem englischen Sprachraum erst in den späten siebziger, bzw. frühen achtziger Jahren erfolgte, so können in der oben erwähnten Untersuchung, die aus einer sehr frühen Periode dieser Öffnung stammt, nur erste Ansätze behandelt worden sein. Weiters beschränkt sich dieses Standardwerk schon im Titel auf das Gebiet der Iberischen Halbinsel, ohne auf Varietäten aus Lateinamerika und insbesondere des spanischsprachigen Teils der Vereinigten Staaten einzugehen. Gegen Mitte der achtziger Jahre schlug weiters die Geburtsstunde eines neuen, länder-und kontinentübergreifenden Mediums - des World Wide Web (WWW). Da die meisten Neuerungen auf dem Computersektor, ebenso die Idee des WWW, ohnedies aus den USA kommen, setzte sich auch in diesem Bereich Englisch als Sprache der internationalen Kommunikation durch, was wiederum zu einem Anstieg an Anglizismen im Spanischen führte.
