Ziel ist es, zu zeigen, wie Unternehmen OKR effektiv einsetzen können, um flexibel auf diese Herausforderungen zu reagieren, sowie die Verbindung zwischen OKR und dem Controlling aufzuzeigen. Die Arbeit folgt einem theoretischen und systematischen Ansatz. Im ersten Kapitel wird der Bezug zum Controlling hergestellt und eine Auswahl von Zielmanagementmethoden vorgestellt. Im darauffolgenden Kapitel erfolgt eine detaillierte Analyse der OKR-Methode, einschlie lich ihrer Entstehungsgeschichte, Definition und Abgrenzung zu anderen Zielmanagementmethoden. Besonderes Augenmerk liegt dabei auf dem OKR-Zyklus und den Erfolgsfaktoren. Anschlie end werden exemplarisch Herausforderungen für Unternehmen aufgezeigt und mit entsprechenden OKR versehen, um zu demonstrieren, wie diese bei der Bewältigung dieser Herausforderungen unterstützen können. Des Weiteren werden der Einsatz von OKR bei deutschen und amerikanischen Unternehmen verglichen und anhand eines Modellunternehmens Schritt für Schritt Implementierungsstrategien aufgezeigt. Dabei wird die Methode konkret angewendet, um der Herausforderung des Fachkräftemangels zu begegnen.
