Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Informatik - Wirtschaftsinformatik, Note: 1,0, Fachhochschule Technikum Wien, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der Medici Effekt von Frans Johansson beschreibt die kombinatorische These, durch Zusammenführen von Konzepten unterschiedlicher Fachgebiete, Disziplinen und Kulturen das Potential für eine Vielzahl neuer und ungewöhnlicher Ideen zu generieren, ähnlich wie die offene Geisteshaltung und Förderung von Künsten und Wissenschaften durch die Bankendynastie der Medicis im 15. Jahrhundert zur Renaissance führten. Das Phänomen zeigt sich heute in einer Vielzahl neuerer Innovationsansätze und bietet insbesondere für das von Diversifikation geprägte Europa und die zunehmende Komplexität wissenschaftlicher Problemstellungen eine neue und differenzierte Herangehensweise zur Betrachtung von Interdisziplinarität. Die vorliegende Arbeit setzt sich mit der Idee des Medici Effektes nach Frans Johansson auseinander und untermauert seine Entstehung anhand ausgewählter europäischer Beispiele der Gegenwart. Neben der Bedeutung von Innovationen für den europäischen Raum als Treiber für Wirtschaftswachstum und den zunehmend drängenderen Ausbau von Forschungsaktivitäten wird insbesondere auch aufgezeigt, dass sich der Medici Effekt in zahlreichen aktuellen Innovationsansätzen wie Open Innovation, Cross Industry Innovation oder Bionik als Schnittmenge von Übertragungsmechanismen wiederfindet und sowohl aus Produkt-, Prozess- als auch sozialer Hinsicht ein reichhaltiges Handlungsspektrum für den Umgang mit Unterschieden eröffnet. Darüber hinaus wird der Effekt auch aus praktischer Sicht im Rahmen eines Managementspiels illustrativ erzeugt und sowohl für seine kognitive Vermittlung aufbereitet als auch im Rahmen eines Workshops erprobt.
