About The Book

Die betriebswirtschaftlichen Diskussionen der letzten Jahre haben sich in steigendem MaBe mit der Stellung des Menschen im Betrieb und mit dem Problem des Betriebes als soziale Erscheinung befaBt. Dabei kamen zu den vielen, in diesem Zusammenhang auftauchenden Fragen nicht nur Be- triebswirte zu Wort, sondern auch Soziologen, Psychologen und Anthropo- logen. Es stellte sich heraus, daB Ergebnisse auf diesen Gebieten nur aus einer Gemeinschaftsarbeit aller sozialwissenschaftlichen Forschungszweige erwachsen kdnnen. Die sich mit dem Fragenkomplex in seiner Gesamtheit befassende Fach- literatur ist in stetem Anwachsen begriffen. Die ersten Arbeiten betriebs- soziologischer Artentstanden in der Zeit zwischen den beiden Weltkriegen. In Deutschland bildeten die Veroffentlichungen der beiden Soziologen GOTZ BRIEFS (1) und HENRIK DE MAN (2) bereits in den zwanziger Jahren eine erste Anregung, ohne daB jedoch die Betriebswirtschaftslehre sehr stark auf diese Arbeiten und die dort enthaltenen Erkennmisse zuriickgegriffen hatte. In den Vereinigten Staaten waren die Versuche in den Hawthorne-Werken der Western Electric Inc. in Chicago (3) bahnbrechend fUr die betriebliche Sozialforschung. In Amerika hat sich im AnschluB an diese ersten Ex- perimente eine sehr reiche und fruchtbare empirische und theoretische Sozialforschung entwickelt, deren Ergebnisse und Erkenntnisse seit dem Ende des Krieges auch hier in Europa starkste Beachtung gefunden haben. Die vorliegende Arbeit hat sich nun zum Ziel gesetzt, aus den bisher vor- liegenden Verdffentlichungen und Forschungsergebnissen, und zwar vor- wiegend solchen amerikanischer Herkunft, ein Denkkonzept fUr einige der mit dem Problem der menschlichen Beziehungen im Betrieb in Zusam- menhang stehenden Fragen zu erarbeiten.
