Die Forderung, dass mehr M�nner als m�nnliche Vorbilder f�r Kinder in der fr�hkindlichen Bildung und in der Grundschule fungieren, ist im �ffentlichen und fachlichen Diskurs nach wie vor allgegenw�rtig, da die Leistungsschw�che von Jungen und die Abwesenheit von M�nnern im Leben der Kinder weiterhin die Bildungsagenda dominieren. Diese Arbeit untersucht die Mehrdeutigkeit des Begriffs "Vorbild", indem sie die Gedanken, Wahrnehmungen und Vorstellungen von M�nnern beleuchtet, die im Bereich der fr�hen Kindheit (0-8 Jahre) arbeiten oder eine Ausbildung absolvieren. Die Untersuchung befasst sich mit Definitionen und Wahrnehmungen des Begriffs "Vorbild" und hebt dabei Spannungen hervor, die mit der Theorie des m�nnlichen Vorbilds verbunden sind. Die Forschungsergebnisse legen nahe, dass der Begriff "m�nnliches Vorbild" je nach Kontext, Situation und den Erwartungen verschiedener Personen auf vielf�ltige Weise interpretiert und definiert werden kann. Annahmen, wonach das Vorbild automatisch "ein Mann" sei, werden in Frage gestellt, da nicht nur argumentiert wird, dass sowohl M�nner als auch Frauen Vorbilder f�r Jungen sein k�nnen, sondern dass das Vorbild ein "Status" ist, der "verdient" werden muss, anstatt "gegeben" zu sein. Auch wenn politische Entscheidungstr�ger davon ausgehen, dass Vorbilder einen positiven Einfluss auf Jungen haben, deuten die Ergebnisse darauf hin, dass Vorbilder tats�chlich negative Auswirkungen auf das Leben von Kindern haben k�nnen.
