Dabei werden unter anderem folgende Fragen behandelt: "Wozu brauchen wir Intelligenztests, reichen schulische Ergebnisse nicht aus?" oder "Wer bestimmt, was Intelligenz ist und wie man sie messbar machen kann?". Zunächst werden die wichtigsten Begriffe wie Intelligenz, Intelligenzdaten oder Psychologische Tests geklärt, bevor die Geschichte von psychologischen Tests dargestellt wird. Dabei geht es nicht nur um die wissenschaftliche Testung, sondern auch um die Ursprünge und die Idee Menschen zu testen und wie diese schon seit hunderten von Jahren die Menschen fasziniert. Im Anschluss beschäftigt sich diese Hausarbeit mit der Geschichte der Intelligenztestung und damit, wie man von der Idee Intelligenz messbar zu machen bis hin zu den heute gebräuchlichen Intelligenztests viele Schwierigkeiten und Probleme überwinden und lösen musste. Nach dem geschichtlichen Überblick werden einige aktuelle Tendenzen in der Intelligenztestung erläutert, bevor die Frage geklärt wird, inwieweit Intelligenztests überhaupt fair und kulturfrei sein können. Zum Abschluss werden noch kritische Stimmen zum Thema Intelligenztests dargestellt und es werden Konstrukte vorgestellt, die versuchen die kritisierten Probleme durch neue Ideen zu lösen.
