Desperate measures is a fictional account of four men who, after collectively spending thirty years in the bush, are unsympathetically informed by their new C. O's that they do not qualify for a State pension. Feeling cheated and immensely disappointed by what was considered tantamount to traitorous treatment, they set about stealing what they believed was their right. In numerous cleverly planned and daring escapades they acquire much more than ever intended and later also manage to invest these funds rather astutely. Along the way they meet delightful ladies, begin new business ventures, have several encounters with wily and persistent law enforcement officers. Readers who love life and adventure, sailing, micro-lights and sky-diving will be enthralled by the exceptional camaraderie, warm-hearted nature and superb sense of humour of the main characters.

Clive is a dedicated author and prolific writer and has created works in a wide array of different genres. Up until this point he has written a two-part historical fiction series namely; 'Our end of the Rainbow' which depicts the trials and tribulations of the French Huguenots in the face of brutal religious depression, their escape from France and onward journey to the Cape of Good Hope where they finally re-establish exceptional life styles; 'When Dreams Come True' is a psychological thriller for adults in short story format; 'Prism' a short story for young scouting type lads; 'Seeds of Love' a fantasy most suited to young girls; 'Moods' a composition of daily living verse which will take readers from the depths of depression to the heights of hilarity; 'Agape love-from above' an anthology of Christian inspirational verse; 'The Omega Principle' Is an outrageous conspiracy based on the rumour that almost a billion Rand was supposedly deposited into a 'closed' pension fund for former Members of Parliament to draw a life-long pension from this immense amount of tax free, interest-bearing capital. This fictional account, based on the above information, begins with a far-right extremist group, who with a single member in Parliament, suddenly realize that if their M.P. was the sole surviving member, he would be paid the entire amount remaining in the fund at that time. Convinced that with a billion Rand they could return the leadership of the country back into white hands, they set about eliminating all other beneficiaries. His latest book 'Desperate Measures' is another action / adventure novel based on the fact that for decades young South Africans were called upon to defend the policies of a bigoted regime. Upon their return home they discover that their previous enemies, 'Umkonto we Siswe', the Military arm of the A.N.C, had been drafted into the South African Defence Force. Several naturally resigned on the spot and received no pension or payout.
