Growing up in the projects of Oklahoma City, Richardson is a first-generation college student who began her academic journey with a low ACT score, requiring supportive learning courses in reading, English, and math. Despite these challenges, Richardson has successfully completed five nursing programs (LVN, ADN, BSN, MSN, and DNP) and has worked in higher education for 17 years.A Tennessee State University Artificial Intelligence Fellow and a Vanderbilt University Emerging Diverse Nurse Leader Fellow, Richardson has made significant strides in both academia and nursing leadership. She is the author of Next-Gen Nursing School Playbook: 20 Coaching Tips for Mastering Nursing School and Battling Burnout in Nursing School: 20 Day Devotional.Richardson credits her mother for instilling a strong spiritual foundation by taking her and her six siblings to church almost every day during their upbringing. This experience shaped her understanding of how to apply spiritual principles to thrive in adversity. She has successfully applied these principles throughout her college journey, in her marriage, while parenting, and in her career as an educator and author.Married for over 30 years to her husband Anthony, Richardson is a proud parent of five children-Anthony, Toni, Caleb, Mary, and Hannah, who have all attained college degrees.
