Aufgrund der fehlenden unmittelbaren Wirkung auf die Lebenssituation der Deutschen wird dieses Politikfeld nie die Relevanz von anderen Politikfeldern wie z.B. Wirtschafts- Innen- oder Gesundheitspolitik erlangen. Allerdings sind die Entwicklungshilfezahlungen in den letzten Jahren gestiegen, was auch auf Verpflichtungen zurückzuführen ist, die Deutschland auf internationalen Konferenzen eingegangen ist. Zudem war Deutschland als eines der grö ten Geberländer an der länderübergreifenden Erarbeitung entwicklungspolitischer Ziele ma geblich beteiligt. Die auf nationaler Ebene entwickelten Strategien und Konzepte wurden in den vergangenen Jahren immer mehr an diesen Zielen ausgerichtet. Zudem wurden im Rahmen der multilateralen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit Evaluierungsmechanismen etabliert, die es erlauben, den deutschen Beitrag mit anderen Geberländern zu vergleichen und somit besser bewerten zu können. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, einen Überblick über den deutschen Beitrag innerhalb einer sich immer weiter vernetzenden internationalen Geberzusammenarbeit zu geben und die grundlegende Leitlinien, Konzepte sowie die komplexe Trägerstruktur deutscher Entwicklungspolitik zu skizzieren. Darüber hinaus soll die Wirksamkeit deutscher Entwicklungszusammenarbeit analysiert und kritisch bewertet werden.
