Antigone zwischen Antike und Moderne., Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Antigone Pierre-Simon Ballanches ist schon deshalb interessant, weil mit ihr die einzige moderne Prosabearbeitung des antiken Stoffes vorliegt. Geschrieben im letzten Jahr der napoleonischen Herrschaft, wagt sie den Versuch, den Mythos im christlichen Sinn umzudeuten und zugleich auf die gesellschaftlichen Verh�ltnisse zu beziehen. Dies alleine w�re noch keine Besonderheit, hat doch schon Garnier eine christliche Antigone geschaffen und stehen andere Bearbeitungen ebenfalls unter politischen Vorzeichen. Die Art und Weise, wie dies jedoch geschieht, stellt einen Bruch mit der Tradition dar und kann durchaus als einzigartig bezeichnet werden. In der folgenden Untersuchung werden wir das Werk zuerst in sein gesellschaftlich-geschichtliches Umfeld einordnen und zu kl�ren versuchen, inwieweit es sich dabei um ein politisches St�ck handelt. Im zweiten Kapitel wird untersucht werden, ob und wie die epische Form der Intention des Autors gerecht wird. Das dritte Kapitel ist den Protagonisten gewidmet, im vierten wird versucht, das St�ck in die Geschichtsphilosophie Ballanches, die den weitaus gr� ten Teil seines Werkes ausmacht, einzuordnen. Diese vier Punkte sollen uns gen�gen, um zu zeigen, das es sich bei der Antigone Ballanches um eine einzigartige Bearbeitung handelt, die vor allem durch ihre konzeptionelle Geschlossenheit besticht. Dem Leser diese Einsch�tzung n�her bringen zu k�nnen, ist unsere Hoffnung.
