Vor diesem Hintergrund wird versucht, folgende Frage zu beantworten: Inwiefern lässt sich durch sogenanntes Adaptive Case Management, die Zukunftsfähigkeit der Mitarbeiter und der Unternehmen sichern? Um in diesen Zeiten einen organisatorischen Wandel, welcher die Schnittstellen Technologie, Wirtschaft und Mensch betrifft, erfolgreich zu meistern, ist es nötig, direkt an den Geschäftsprozessen anzusetzen. Das alleinige Implementieren von neuen Technologien ist nicht ausreichend, da diese Unternehmenssilos nicht zu beseitigen vermögen, das Lernen in der Organisation nicht vorantreiben, nicht die Kundenperspektive aufzeigen sowie agilen Methoden (z.B. Design Thinking) nicht ermöglichen. Vielmehr ist es nötig, direkt an den Geschäftsprozessen anzusetzen und diese zu überarbeiten. Dabei soll die Kombination des organisationalen Lernens mit dem klassischen Prozessmanagement eine fortlaufende Überprüfung des erworbenen Wissens ermöglichen. Dieses ist nötig, damit Unternehmen wettbewerbsfähig bleiben. Ein guter Geschäftsprozess ist somit abhängig von dem verfügbaren Wissen. Die fortschreitende digitale Transformation eröffnet Unternehmen neue Möglichkeiten für einen Wissensaustausch. Diesbezüglich können Daten in grö eren Mengen erhoben, verarbeitet und ausgewertet werden, um daraus neues Wissen zu generieren. Dieses ist von besonderer Bedeutung, da das Wissen in den letzten Jahren rasant gestiegen ist. Bis ins achtzehnte Jahrhundert hat sich das menschliche Wissen nahezu in jedem Jahrhundert verdoppelt.
