Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Arbeit, Ausbildung, Organisation, Justus-Liebig-Universität Gie en, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In vielen schulbezogenen Studien, allen voran PISA, wurden Statistiken erstellt, die unter anderem folgende besorgniserregende Interpretationen hervorbringen: Das deutsche Schulsystem in seiner dreigliedrigen Form sei sehr stark selektiv und völlig veraltet, der Leistungsdruck der auf den Schülern lastet werde immer grö er und Schüler aus Migrantenfamilien seien benachteiligt im Vergleich zu den einheimischen deutschen Schülern. Doch der Meinung einiger Wissenschaftler zufolge darf man letzteres Urteil nicht so pauschal stehen lassen. Dazu gebe es zu viele beeinflussende Faktoren, die eine differenzierte Betrachtungsweise des Problems erfordern. Das Ziel dieser Hausarbeit ist es, mit Bezug auf die aktuellen Erkenntnisse der Sozialwissenschaft, die Benachteiligung der Migranten in der Schule darzustellen und mögliche Erklärungsansätze zu diskutieren. Dabei möchte ich besonders auf den Aspekt der institutionellen Diskriminierung und die Rolle der Sprachkenntnisse eingehen. Zum einen habe ich in meinen Schulpraktika verschiedene Schulformen und auch die Verwirrung und Verärgerung darüber seitens der Schüler und Lehrer kennen gelernt, was mich zu einer näheren Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema motiviert. Zuletzt interessiere ich mich als Anglistikstudent auch für linguistische Fragestellungen und für die Rolle der Fremdsprachenkenntnisse für den Schulerfolg. Bevor ich mit der Auseinandersetzung des Themas beginne möchte ich zuallererst einige grundlegende Begriffe, die für das Thema relevant sind, definieren.
