Dabei wird auf verschiedene veröffentlichte Studien zugegriffen. Schwerpunktmä ig auf die COPSY I und Copsy II-Studien vom Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf. Mit der COPSY-Studie erschien schon im ersten Pandemiejahr ein umfassender Überblick über den seelischen Gesundheitszustand von Schülerinnen und Schülern. Es folgten weitere Studien, die ein neues und dynamisches Forschungsfeld eröffneten. Neben all diesen neuen Erkenntnissen darf jedoch auch nicht der Blick auf die schon seit Jahren existierenden Kenntnisse namhafter Soziologen, Psychologen und Pädagogen wie beispielsweise Klaus Hurrelmann fehlen. Die Grundlagen der Sozialisation finden auch in diesem neueren Forschungsgebiet Anklang und liefern wesentliche Erkenntnisse. Am Anfang der COVID-19-Pandemie gab es weltweit gro e Unsicherheiten. Was macht dieses Virus, ist es überhaupt gefährlich, welche Ma nahmen sind zur Eindämmung sinnvoll? Neben diesen fundamental wichtigen Fragen wurden global Ma nahmen wie Schulschlie ungen und Lockdowns beschlossen. Doch was wir immer noch nicht wissen ist, wie sich die Pandemie auf die Entwicklung und seelische Gesundheit junger Heranwachsender auswirkt, auch mit Blick auf mögliche langfristige Folgen.
