Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2007 im Fachbereich Politik - Internationale Politik - Region: Osteuropa, Note: 1.5, Universität Zürich, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Kurz nach seiner frisch gewonnenen Unabhängigkeit im Jahre 1991 befand sich Moldawien zwei innerstaatlichen Konflikten ausgesetzt. Während der separatistische Konflikt in Gaugasien durch Gewährung von weitreichender Autonomie friedlich beigelegt werden konnte, brach in demjenigen um Transnistrien ein Bürgerkrieg aus. Dieser endete mit einem faktischen Sieg der Separatisten, welche die Region östlich der Dniestr bis heute de facto kontrollieren, obwohl das Gebiet offiziell zum Staatsgebiet Moldawiens gehört. Das dieser Konflikt bis heute nicht gelöst ist - und er deshalb in den Medien und der Literatur oft als frozen conflict beschrieben wird - hat viele Gründe. In meiner Arbeit will ich diese er]ortern. Spezielles Augenmerk lege ich dabei auf die Rolle der EU, die durch ihre Entwicklungen in den letzten 15 Jahren - vor allem durch die Osterweiterung und der verstärkten Koordination der Sicherheitspolitik - eine immer wichtigere Rolle spielt. Ebenfalls behandle ich in einem Kapitel den Einfluss Russlands. Danach werde ich die Situation anhand einer spieltheoretischen Matrix mit den Interessen der beiden Akteure EU und Russland analysieren und versuchen, daraus Erkenntnisse über eine mögliche Lösung des Konflikts gewinnen zu können.
