In diesem Zusammenhang wird in Kapitel zwei auf die theoretischen Grundlagen eingegangen. Die Arbeit schlie t mit einem kurzen Fazit ab. Im Rahmen der Arbeit soll folgende Forschungsfrage beantwortet werden: Welche Chancen und Herausforderungen ergeben sich bei der Führung virtueller, interkultureller Teams? Organisationen haben sich in den letzten Jahren durch die digitale Technologie stark gewandelt. Obwohl sich Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft derzeit in einer Umbruchphase befinden, treibt die Digitalisierung von Gesellschaft und Wirtschaft gleichzeitig Transformationsprozesse in den unterschiedlichsten Lebensbereichen voran. Es gilt, neben der Möglichkeit neuer Chancen für selbstbestimmtes Arbeiten und eine verbesserte Work-Life-Balance auch grundlegende Aspekte der digitalisierten Arbeitswelt zu beleuchten. Beispiele hierfür sind die zunehmenden Anforderungen an die Unternehmen, die Flexibilität ihrer Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter zu erhöhen, verpflichtende Teilzeitarbeit, ständige Erreichbarkeit, unbezahlte Überstunden, Urlaubsdefizite und die Nichteinhaltung von Ruhezeiten. Aus diesem Grund sehen sich viele Unternehmen heute gezwungen, flexible Arbeitsplatzmodelle wie das Home-Office anzubieten, obwohl dies in der Vergangenheit nicht erforderlich war. Wer aus der Ferne führt, braucht die Nähe zu seinen Anhängern. Regelmä ige Kommunikation zwischen Mitarbeitern und Führungskräften ist unerlässlich, aber besonders wichtig, wenn es eine physische Barriere zwischen ihnen gibt.
