Dieses Buch ist aus einer sehr einfachen Erfahrung heraus entstanden: Ich bin Gitarrist, ich liebe den Blues und irgendwann habe ich zum ersten Mal einen Slide �ber die Saiten geschoben. In diesem Moment hat sich mein Verh�ltnis zur Gitarre ver�ndert. Der Ton war nicht mehr nur richtig oder falsch, nicht mehr sauber abgegrenzt von Bund zu Bund. Er war beweglich, unsicher, manchmal rau und genau deshalb unglaublich ehrlich. Seitdem l�sst mich der Klang der Slide-Gitarre nicht mehr los. Als Musiker begegnet man dem Slide-Sound oft eher am Rand: als Effekt, als besondere Farbe im Sound, als etwas, das man auch mal einsetzt. Doch je tiefer ich mich damit besch�ftigt habe, desto klarer wurde mir, dass die Slide-Gitarre weit mehr ist als eine Spieltechnik. Sie ist eine eigene Ausdrucksform, fast eine eigene Stimme innerhalb der Gitarrenwelt. Eine Stimme, die so eng mit Emotion, Geschichte und Identit�t verbunden ist, dass sie ein eigenes Buch verdient. Was die Slide-Gitarre so besonders macht, ist ihre Freiheit. Statt die Saite fest auf einen Bund zu dr�cken, gleitet ein St�ck Glas oder Metall �ber die Saiten. Die festen Grenzen verschwinden. T�ne flie en ineinander, liegen bewusst zwischen den �blichen Tonh�hen, kippen, zittern, suchen ihren Platz. Genau darin liegt ihre Kraft. Die Slide-Gitarre kann weinen, schreien, tr�sten oder hoffen und manchmal alles gleichzeitig. Sie klingt oft n�her an der menschlichen Stimme als jede andere Gitarrentechnik. Gerade im Blues hat dieser Klang eine enorme Bedeutung. Hier wurde die Slide-Gitarre zu einem Mittel, Gef�hle auszudr�cken, f�r die es keine einfachen Worte gab. Schmerz, Verlust, Einsamkeit, aber auch Trotz, W�rde und �berlebenswille finden in den gleitenden T�nen ihren Platz. Der Slide erlaubt es, nicht perfekt zu sein. Und genau darin liegt seine Wahrheit.
