Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Wirtschaft und Industrie, Note: 1,0, Universität Hamburg (Institut für Soziologie), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die globale Finanzkrise, die im Jahr 2007 als Subprime-Krise auf dem US-Häusermarkt begann, entwickelte sich in den Jahren 2008 und 2009 zu einer schweren internationalen Banken-, Finanz- und Wirtschaftskrise. Die vorliegende Arbeit fragt nach den Ursachen, der Bedeutung und den Folgen dieser in ihrem Ausma beispiellosen Krise. Zunächst werden die ökonomischen Ursachen der Finanzkrise analysiert. Daran anschlie end wird aus einer risikosoziologischen Perspektive untersucht, welchen Anteil die Banken an dem Ausbruch der Finanzkrise tragen. Dabei wird die These vertreten, dass die Finanzinstitute durch das Festhalten an einem probabilistischen Risikobegriff und an einem mathematischen Realismus ma geblich zur Entstehung der Turbulenzen an den weltweiten Finanzmärkten beigetragen haben. Im Anschluss wendet sich die Arbeit der gesellschaftstheoretischen Bedeutung der Finanzkrise zu. In diesem Zusammenhang wird argumentiert, dass die Finanzkrise auf einen sich vollziehenden sozialen Wandel des kapitalistischen Produktionsregimes hindeutet. Mit dem Finanzmarkt-Kapitalismus entsteht ein neues Produktionsregime, das in besonderer Weise an die Funktionsweise globalisierter Märkte angepasst und durch eine spezifische Konfiguration von Institutionen geprägt ist. Als Folge der globalen Finanzkrise entwickelte sich auf der Ebene der internationalen Politik zudem eine intensive Diskussion über eine mögliche stärkere Regulierung der globalen Finanzmärkte. Die Arbeit greift diese Debatte auf und fragt nach möglichen Formen der Selbst- und Kontextsteuerung auf den weltweiten Finanzmärkten.
