Die stetig zunehmende Internationalisierung der wirtschaftlichen Beziehungen hat Einfluss auf das traditionelle Rechtsverständnis. Es entstehen neue "Akteure" und "Institutionengefüge". Deshalb bestehen Bedenken, die ursprünglich territorial gebundene und begründete parlamentarisch-repräsentative Demokratie könne an Substanz verlieren, die Gestaltungsmacht transnationaler Politik hingegen ohne direkte demokratische Legitimation anwachsen. Diese Untersuchung stellt zunächst verschiedene Diskussionsansätze zur Metaebene dar (Weltordnung und Globalisierung, B.) und zeigt sodann konkrete Bezüge der Diskussionsansätze zur (Verfassungs-) Rechtswirklichkeit auf (C.). Die Arbeit betrachtet somit die verschiedenen Ebenen der Diskussion, nämlich sowohl die verfassungstheoretische als auch die konkrete verfassungsrechtliche Ebene.
