Seine Werke hatten ma geblichen Einfluss auf die Politik vieler Staaten und waren einer der bedeutendsten Quellen für Argumente gegen eine sozialistisch-geprägte Wirtschafts- und Gesellschaftsordnung jeglichen Ausma es. So beeinflussten Hayeks Ideen beispielsweise Ludwig Erhard, der auch Mitglied der von Hayek gegründeten Mont-Pèlerin- Society war, in seiner Konzeption der westdeutschen Nachkriegswirtschaftsordnung oder verhinderten Mitte der 40er Jahre in Schweden den Umschwung hin zu einem planwirtschaftlichen Ordnungsmodell. Ferner lie en sich Margret Thatcher und Ronald Reagan bei ihren neo-liberal geprägten Reformen Mitte der 80er Jahre zu einem gro en Teil von Hayek leiten. In dieser Hausarbeit sollen die Grundfundamente der liberalen Theorie Hayeks skizziert, sowie insbesondere seine spezifischen Ausführungen zum Sozialstaat, oder "Wohlfahrtsstaat" wie es bei ihm hei t, dargelegt werden. Ferner wird versucht werden, einige Reformbemühungen der Renten- und Krankenversicherung in Deutschland anhand seiner Prinzipien zu bewerten.
