Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich VWL - Internationale Wirtschaftsbeziehungen, Note: 2,0, Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (Fakultät für Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Arbeit befasst sich mit den Handelsbeziehungen zwischen der EU und den AKP-Staaten und soll das Wissen über die vorgesehenen Wirtschaft Partnerschaft Abkommen (EPAs - Economic Partnership Agreements) durch Untersuchungen der möglichen Auswirkungen der EPAs auf die AKP-Staaten vertiefen. Au erdem soll das Wissen über die EPAs vertieft werden, indem die möglichen Gründe beziehungsweise Ursachen dargestellt werden, warum die vollständig umfassenden EPAs mit den ganzen AKP-Regionen bislang noch nicht abgeschlossen wurden. Zudem werden verschiedene Studien analysiert. Diese Arbeit soll zeigen, dass es verschiedene Ergebnisse und Meinungen hinsichtlich der Auswirkungen der geplanten EPAs auf die AKP-Staaten gibt. Die Handelsbeziehungen zwischen der Europäischen Union(EU) und 79 Staaten Afrikas, des Pazifiks und der Karibik (AKP-Staaten) sollen durch Wirtschaft Partnerschaft Abkommen (Economic Partnership Agreements - EPAs) auf eine neue Grundlage gestellt werden (Reichert et al. 2009: S.2). Im Jahr 2002 haben die Verhandlungen begonnen und sollten bis Ende 2007 abgeschlossen werden. Hintergrund dafür ist, dass die bisherigen Handelsbeziehungen zwischen den AKP-Staaten und der EU die Regeln der Welthandelsorganisation verletzen, d. h. es sind bis Anfang 2008 WTO-kompatible Abkommen zu formulieren. Au erdem sollen diese Abkommen einen Beitrag zur Armutsbekämpfung und Förderung der regionalen Integration leisten. Trotz der vorgesehenen Ziele, sind EPAs in der geplanten umfassenden Form mit vielen AKP-Staaten noch nicht abgeschlossen. Bis Ende 2007 haben einige AKP-Regionen und Staaten Interimsabkommen mit der EU abgeschlossen. Bislang hat nur die karibische Region vollständige EPAs unterzeichnet, während 19 afrikanische Staaten und 2 pazifische Staat
