Die in einschlagigen Zeitschriften veroffentlichten neueren Arbeiten dieser Fachrichtung sind weit verstreut, und oft sind im Rahmen anderer Untersuchungen nur Teilgebiete be- handelt worden.: Fiir den Elektrotechniker, sei es fUr den Studierenden, sei es fUr den im Beruf stehenden Ingenieur, ist es denmach schwierig, sich die notwendigen Kenntnisse auf diesem Gebiete anzueignen. Es erscheint deshalb angebraeht, die Isolierstoffe del' Elektroteehnik aus heutiger Sicht in einem \Verk zusammcnfassend darzustellen. 80 werden in diesem Buche samtliche (gegenwartig zur VerfUgung stehenden) Isolierstoffe behandelt. Mit den physikalischen und chemischen Grnndlagen beginnend werden V orkommen und Rohstoffgrundlagen be- sproehen. Es folgen jeweils Abschnitte iiber Gewinnung, Herstellung und Verarbeitung. Die Angaben iiber die Werkstoffeigenschaften werden durch Tabellen und Diagramme erganzt. Bei deren Beurteilung und Priifung sind. Roweit nicht andel'S vermerkt, die VDE-Bestimmungen und die ein- sehlagigen DIK-Normen zugrunde gelegt worden. Als MaBeinheiten sind grundsatzlich die gesetzlichen Einheiten, wie sie dem Internationalen Einheitensystel1l (81) entsprechen, verwendet worden. In bezug auf die Einsatzgebiete wird auf charakteristisehe Anwendungsbeispiele besonders hingewiesen.
