Das vorliegende Buch stellt hierauf bezogene Erkenntnisse bereit, die im Rahmen eines mehrjährigen Forschungsprojekts gewonnen wurden. Als Informationsbasis dienten unter anderem 46 Interviews mit Top Managern von 18 Unternehmen, welche die Matrixstruktur nutzen.

Unter anderem werden folgende Aspekte behandelt:

  • Warum benötigen immer mehr Unternehmen die Matrix als organisatorische Grundstruktur und wann ist sie geeignet?
  • Wie häufig und bei welchen Themen kommt es zwischen den beteiligten Managern in der Matrix zu Konflikten?
  • Welche Methoden der Konfliktlösung sind geeignet?
  • Was sind die wichtigsten Aufgaben von Two-boss-Managern und welches Fähigkeitsprofil sollten sie haben?
  • Welche Bedeutung haben hochrangige Meetings im Zusammenhang mit der Matrixstruktur?
  • Welche Erfolgsfaktoren (Managementinstrumente) unterstützen den Erfolg der Matrixstruktur?
