Nach Ostern verbringen Mali, Jonas und Lo ihre Ferien gemeinsam in Tannbrunn. Von dort aus ist die Burgruine von Ebersteyn zu sehen, vertraut und geheimnisvoll zugleich. Im Musikzimmer steht Lino, aufmerksam, ruhig, gegenw�rtig. Als Mali eine alte Melodie �bt, ver�ndert sich etwas. Der Klang scheint weiterzutragen, als w�rde er R�ume, Zeiten und Erinnerungen miteinander verbinden.

Gemeinsam mit den Tieren der Gegenwart: der Ente Dotti, dem Schwein Fips und der Schildkr�te Tilda, folgen die Kinder Hinweisen und Spuren, die sie n�her an die Burgruine heranf�hren. Dort verdichtet sich etwas, das sich nicht erkl�ren l�sst.

Schlie lich geraten sie in eine andere Zeit - in eine Welt, in der die Burg noch steht und der Schwedenkrieg seine Schatten vorauswirft. Zuerst gelangen sie auf einen Hof und treffen dort auf die Tier-Vorfahren: die Ente Dora, das Schwein Balt und die Schildkr�te Alba. Danach lernen sie eine Familie im Burgfeldhaus kennen.

Die Geschichte ist eine ruhige, fortlaufende Erz�hlung �ber Erinnerung, Klang und �berg�nge. Sie erz�hlt von Flucht und Bleiben, von Orten, die zuh�ren, und von einer Melodie, die Vergangenes und Gegenw�rtiges miteinander verbindet.
