Die ffentliche Meinung ber Lehrerinnen und Lehrer war jedoch stets eine uneindeutige, von Vorurteilen und Stereotypisierungen gepr gte Sicht. Jeder hat wohl seine Meinung ber "die Lehrer", waren die meisten Menschen doch jahrelang mit ihnen in Kontakt. Die Perspektive ndert sich dabei nat rlich zwangsl ufig im Laufe der Zeit: So sind die eigenen Lehrer dem Einen aus der vergangenen Schulzeit noch bekannt, der Andere sieht sich als Elternteil eines Schulkindes mit ihnen konfrontiert und wieder Andere entscheiden sich, nach der Schulzeit selbst den Lehrerberuf zu ergreifen. Selten wird man zwei identische Vorstellungen und Meinungen ber "den Lehrer" oder "die Lehrerin" finden k nnen, da jegliche Erfahrungen und somit entstehende Meinungsbilder stets an gewissen Stellen divergieren werden. Trotz allem ist in der Vergangenheit immer wieder ber das Image der Lehrer spekuliert, gemutma t, gesprochen und vor allem geschrieben worden. Dabei ergeben sich nat rlich ebenfalls sehr differenzierte Bilder. Demnach beschreibt Theodor W. Adorno den Lehrer als eine Person, welcher " ...] ein gewisses Aroma des gesellschaftlich nicht ganz Vollkommenen" anhafte. Lehrerinnen und Lehrer gelten demnach als Intellektuelle zweiter Klasse, zwar Akademiker, aber keineswegs ffentlich anerkannt wie bspw. rzte oder Anw lte. In seiner Funktion ist der Lehrer darauf bedacht, der folgenden Generation die Aus bung gesellschaftlicher Funktionen zu vermitteln, obwohl er diese selbst nie praktisch kennen gelernt hat.
