Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 2,0, Freie Universität Berlin (Deutsche Philologie), Veranstaltung: Seminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit soll der Frage nachgegangen werden, welche Bedeutung dem Lesen bzw. der Lektüre in Jean Pauls Roman "Titan" (1803) zukommt. Dabei soll auf drei ausgewählte Abschnitte Bezug genommen werden, in dem das Lektüreverhalten der Romanfiguren vom Erzähler thematisiert wird. Ich möchte mich hierbei insbesondere mit der Grundthese auseinandersetzen, dass das Lesen von Literatur 'poetische' Risiken für das eigene Leben birgt. Diese wird von Ralf-Rainer Wuthenow in seinem Buch "Im Buch die Bücher oder der Held als Leser" (1980, S.120) vertreten. Einzelne Szenen des Romans sollen gerade unter diesen Gesichtspunkt genauer untersucht werden. Des Weiteren wird neben der Bedeutung des Lesens auch auf die Figur des Buches einzugehen seien, da sie genauso wie diese eine Relevanz besitzt. Gerade hinsichtlich der Problematik des frühromantischen Ästhetizismus, der den Roman und seine Figuren charakterisiert, soll auch ein kurzer Bezug zu Kierkegaard hergestellt werden, weil eine ähnliche Thematik in seinem Buch "Tagebuch des Verführers" vorkommt. Es wird in dieser Hinsicht ebenso andere Bücher Jean Pauls herangezogen werden, wie beispielsweise seine Vorschule zur Ästhetik, die dort einen poetischen Diskurs über die Phantasie eröffnet. Neben der ästhetischen Problematik soll zudem auf das Thema der Subjektivität eingegangen werden. Denn es findet im Roman eine ästhetische Verarbeitung von Fichtes idealistischer Subjektphilosophie statt, wie sie besonders in der Setzung eines absoluten Ichs seinen Ausdruck findet. Eine kurze Darstellung von Fichtes Ichphilosophie ist daher erforderlich. Eine in diesem Kontext gehörende Frage wird daher sein, wie mit dem Thema der Subjektivität im Roman umgegangen wird und ob vielleicht auch ein Bezug zur Lektürethematik sich herstellen lässt
