Vielleicht kommt aus diesem Grund die Technik der Rontgenuntersuchung beim Kind oft zu kurz. Der tagliche Umgang mit Kindern aller Altersgruppen lieB die entstehenden altersbedingten Schwierigkeiten mit der dem Kinderarzt gelaufigen Routine iiberwinden. Diese Alltagsaufgabe diinkte ihnen nicht mitteilenswert. Andererseits waren dem Kinderarzt die Forderungen der Strahlenhygiene und die technischen Daten oft nicht gelaufig genug, urn geniigenden Schutz von Patient und Haltepersonal zu gewahrleisten, namentlich aber strahlenbelastende Fehlaufnahmen zu vermeiden. Hier will das Buch, dessen Verfasser Facharzte fiir Kinderkrankheiten und Rontgenologie sind, eine Liicke schlieBen. Aufgrund langjahriger Tatigkeit an den Rontgenabteilungen groBer Kinderkliniken, die auch eine kinderchirurgische Abteilung einschlieBen, wurden eigene Erfahrungen verarbeitet und aIle einschlagigen Untersuchungsmethoden bespro- chen. So entstand eine zuverlassige Unterlage fiir die Technik der Rontgenuntersuchung vom Neugeborenen bis zum Pubeszenten.
