English summary: The process of remembering the Holocaust is facing a turning point. As the last members of the generation who experienced the Holocaust die, secondary presentations of history are replacing primary narratives. Cultural history media are entrusted with an important task as part of this development. They must keep the memories alive and transfer them from a communicative memory to societies' cultural memory. The aim of this study is to show how representations in museums react to these challenges. Transnational and national tendencies are enquired into, as are similarities and differences in representations of the Holocaust in museums. The analysis focuses on the Holocaust History Museum in Yad Vashem, the Information Center for the Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe in Berlin, the United States Holocaust Museum in Washington, the Holocaust Center in Oslo and the Memorial Center in Budapest. German description: Die Erinnerung an den Holocaust steht vor einer Zeitenwende. Mit dem Ableben der letzten Angehorigen der Erfahrungs-generationen losen sekundare Darstellungen der Geschichte die Primarerzahlungen ab. Die Formen der Tradierung bestimmen massgeblich mit, wie und was erinnert und damit ins kollektive Gedachtnis gegenwartiger und kunftiger Generationen eingeschrieben wird. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden die Musealisierung des Holocaust und die hierfur entwickelten Konzepte immer bedeutsamer. Dieser Band vergleicht internationale Ausstellungen zum Thema Holocaust im Hinblick auf vorherrschende Darstellungskonzepte und Inszenierungsformen. Er untersucht daruber hinaus die Dualitat von transnationalen und nationalisierenden Tendenzen in den Erinnerungskulturen und wie sie in den jeweiligen musealen Reprasentationen zum Ausdruck kommen. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt auf dem Ansatz der Individualisierung und Personalisierung in der Darstellung und der zunehmenden Universalisierung der Holocaust-Erinnerung. Die haufige Perspektive auf die klassische Trias Deutschland, Israel, USA wird um Ausstellungen in Norwegen und Ungarn erweitert, zwei Lander, die sich die Geschichte ihrer Kollaboration gerade erst vergegenwartigen.
