Die Filme Mein Leben ohne mich (2003), Ikiru (1952), Oskar und die Dame in Rosa (2009) sowie Die Invasion der Barbaren (2003) werden dabei genauestens hinsichtlich der Entwicklung der Protagonisten, der Zeitnutzung, der Grenzreflexion und dem Umgang mit dem pers�nlichen Umfeld analysiert. Es stellen sich dabei Muster heraus, die umfassend beschrieben und anschlie end im Kontext von Modernisierungstheorien diskutiert werden. Birgit Lippert leistet damit einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Diskurs um die konstitutive Kraft der Medien im Hinblick auf die moderne Sepulkralkultur.
