So verzeichnet der Verein in den letzten Jahren r ckl ufige Mitgliederzahlen, die Austritte stehen nicht im Verh ltnis zu Neueintritten und es k nnen kaum Mitglieder akquiriert werden. Au erdem ist das Durchschnittsalter der F rderkreismitglieder so hoch, dass langfristige Einnahmen der KOB durch den F rderkreis nicht zugesichert werden k nnen. Die Folge ist, dass der gemeinn tzige, bislang auf fast berwiegend ehrenamtlicher Basis gef hrte Verein, weniger Gelder f r k nstlerische Vorhaben der KOB bereitstellen kann. Somit verliert eine wichtige Einnahmequelle an Gewichtung. Zwar wird der Hauptteil der laufenden Kosten des Opernhauses durch die Stiftung Opern in Berlin1 gedeckt, die auch die beiden anderen Opernh user in Berlin: die Staatsoper Unter den Linden und die Deutsche Oper Berlin unterst tzt, jedoch geht ein L wenanteil an die Staatsoper, nicht zuletzt wegen der geldintensiven Sanierung des Opernhauses Unter den Linden.2 Umso mehr ist die KOB darauf angewiesen, dass der F rderkreises dem Trend der sinkenden F rdergelder des F rdervereins Freunde der Komischen Oper Berlin e.V. und dem demografischen Wandel entgegenwirkt.
