Das Bildungskonzept, welches Robert Walser in seinem 1909 erschienenen Lieblingsroman 'Jakob von Gunten- ein Tagebuch' vermittelt, ist ein anderes. W�hrend im klassischen Bildungsroman der Protagonist durch Begegnung mit der Welt zu sich selbst findet, gelangt Jakob von Gunten nur durch Isolation von der Welt und durch Unterdr�ckung seines Bewusstseins und seiner Begierden zu sich selbst. Dieter Borchmeyer spricht in diesem Zusammenhang von einer "satirischen Pervertierung des traditionellen Bildungsbegriffs" . Es ist die Rede von einer Parodie auf den klassischen Bildungsroman, von einem Anti-Bildungsroman. Das Institut Benjamenta, in welchem Jakob eine Ausbildung zum Diener absolviert, ist gekennzeichnet durch seine Abgeschiedenheit von der Welt, von seiner Weltfremdheit. Seine obersten Grunds�tze sind "Geduld und Gehorsam", welche auf ein Leben in "Armut und Abh�ngigkeit" vorbereiten sollen. Im Vordergrund stehen "innere Erfolge" Ziel der Ausbildung ist die Kleinheit "bis hinunter zur Nichtsw�rdigkeit" . Diese 'Idee des Kleinseins', welche die Z�glinge des Instituts vollkommen beherrscht, gilt bei Kil-Pyo Hong als Grundidee Walsers. Er bezeichnet sie als "Angelpunkt seiner Dichtung und Poetik" . Auch Borchmeyer vertritt die Ansicht, dass diese Haltung des Dienens und der Nichtsw�rdigkeit f�r den Schriftsteller zu "fixen Idee" geworden sei. Robert Walser selbst absolvierte im Sp�tsommer 1905 in Berlin einen Kurs zur Ausbildung als Diener und arbeitete als solcher im Herbst 1905 einige Monate auf Schloss Dambrau in Oberschlesien. Die Thematik des Dienens durchzieht sein gesamtes Werk; besonders deutlich wird sie allerdings im 'Jakob von Gunten'. Im Folgenden soll
