Neil Flory became a children's writer when his son asked him for a bedtime story. His first picture book The Short Giraffe was nominated for Book of the Year at the Children's Book Council of Australia Awards. He has published two picture books with Hachette India – Cactus Wants a Hug (illustrated by Simon Yeo) and Marvellously Mixed Up (illustrated by Maitri Bimbrahw-Marks).

He now lives in Goa, where he divides his time between writing kids' stories, adult novels, comics and screenplays; and making music, art and pottery. By buying his books, you are supporting him greatly in his fight against those who wish he'd get a real job.



Ra-ben Almeida very early on developed an instinct for order and imagination. The opportunity to utilize both drew him to the creative world of advertising and design. When not working on brands, he likes to read, draw, ideate, ponder, listen to music, explore new food and enjoy the outdoors. He is curious about culture, behaviour, art, technology, and more! Ra-ben lives in Bangalore but likes to spend a lot of time in Goa, where he grew up.
