Weiterführend soll geklärt werden, inwieweit das soziale Umfeld wie Freunde oder Familie zu einer Resozialisierung behandelter Jugendlicher beitragen. Hierfür wird ein empirisches Beispiel genannt, welches auf Fragebogen-Interviews mit abhängigen jugendlichen Strafgefangenen einer Justizvollzugsanstalt basiert. Das Drogenproblem bei Jugendlichen nimmt im Laufe der Zeit immer weiter zu. Durch die Erfindung der chemischen Drogen bedeutet das enorm ansteigende und lebensgefährliche Risiken für konsumierende und vor allem abhängige junge Menschen. Jugendliche befinden sich in der Adoleszenz, einer Phase, in welcher sie zu selbstständigen jungen Erwachsenen heranwachsen. In dieser Phase sind primär die Freunde von gro er Bedeutung. Jugendliche haben durch natürliche Gegebenheiten den Wunsch, sich einer Gruppe zugehörig zu fühlen und respektiert und geachtet zu werden. Dies scheint das "Problem" zu sein, weshalb es oftmals bei den Heranwachsenden zu einem Konsum von Drogen kommt.
