Das standige Anwachsen des Energiebedarfes hat auch die beschleunigte FortfUhrung des Wasserkraftausbaues erforderlich gemacht. Dabei steht die AusfUhrung groBer Hochdruckspeicherwerke im Rahmen der Verbundwirt- schaft wegen ihrer hervorragenden Eignung fUr die Deckung der Lastspitzen im Vordergrund des Interesses. Solche Werke verlangen aber in der Regel die Anwendung von Druckstollen und Druckschachten, deren Schluckvermogen und Belastbarkeit den mehr und mehr gesteigerten Anforderungen in bezug auf Leistungsbereitstellung entsprechen muB. Um diese Aufgabe wirtschaftlich losen zu konnen, war es notig, neue Wege zu beschreiten und die Auskleidung solcher Bauwerke dem Fortschritt der Technik so anzupassen, daB sie der ihnen zugedachten Bestimmung auch wirklich gerecht werden. Das vorliegende Buch bezweckt nun eine Orientierung der am Druckstollen- bau interessierten Kreise uber alle einschlagigen Fragen und uber die Entwick- lung der Auskleidungstechnik bis zum neuesten Stand der Erkenntnisse, nach- dem seit mehr als 30 Jahren auf diesem wichtigen Ingenieurgebiet keine um- fassende Veroffentlichung mehr erfolgte. Durch meine langjahrige Tatigkeit auf dem Geoiete des Wasserkraftausbaues war es mir moglich, mich mit dem Druckstollenproblem eingehend zu beschiiftigen und an der Entwicklung einer neuen Vorspannbauweise sowie an deren Ein- fuhrung in die Stollenbaupraxis maBgebend mitzuwirken. Diese Tatigkeit er- forderte u. a. auch eine Klarung der theoretischen Zusammenhange, UP.) zu einer befriedigenden Losung aller offenen Fragen zu gelangen. SchlieBlich hielt ich es fUr meine Pflicht, die meinen tTberlegungen und prak- tischen Entwicklungsarbeiten entsprungenen Erkenntnisse durch eine Ver- offentlichung dem Ingenieurnachwuchs zu vermitteln. Ich hoffe, mit dem vor- liegenden Buch dieses Ziel zu erreichen.
