This book analyses important role of agribusiness and rural enterprises in economic growth and development, and how development of agribusiness and rural enterprises facilitates developing countries to upgrade into emerging economies and industrial economies. It exams the inclusive development enterprises to create ample and fitting work opportunities for surplus rural labours in upgrading rural industrialization and transforming economic structures at developing countries and China in particular. And China's dynamic development of agribusiness and rural enterprises has created the ample and fitting work opportunities at phases of rising industrial development with national economic scale. Since China's government carried out the reform of property rights and institutional development of local governance, the majority of farmers have changed to engage in families-agribusiness. The book analyses the technological changes have contributed to the agricultural growth, and the different ownerships of families agribusiness and rural enterprises have improve the technical efficiency.
The book introduces the combination development approach (CDA) of agribusiness and rural enterprises, and the role of CDA in developing countries. The book presents theoretical perspectives of development economics, and it introduces cutting-edge international development issues and China's international economic cooperation, international trade and enterprises development. New technology and information technology bring new business opportunities to smallholder farmers in transitional economies and developing countries to access global value chain in the future.

Lei Sun is a distinguished Professor in International Development at ShanDong University of Finance and Economics, China, and was a visiting scholar in the Department of Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. She was a Research Associate on the African International Affairs Program at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and she was an expert at the ad hoc experts group meeting for United Nations Economics Commission for Africa. She co-authored the Report of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and managed projects sponsored by United Nations Development Agencies Beijing Offices.
