Effective behavioral management is essential in successful schools. In order for children to be able to learn and be successful in school they need to first learn how to behave in school. Learning only takes place when students are ready to learn and this only takes place when they are excited about learning. Schools need to use a multi-tiered approach to behavioral and academic interventions with students. It is only through multiple interventions that students with challenging behaviors are able to change and learn. The days of students just being suspended for inappropriate behavior has passed with many students who do not care about punitive efforts to change their behavior. Schools need to come up with creative measures to help students to move past behavior that inhibits their learning, and move to behavior that excells their learning. Effective Behavior Management gives effective strategies for schools, administrators, and teachers to help deal with the multiple challenges education has.

Chris Fife has written several fiction and non-fiction books. He has a master's degree in education and has taught for over fifteen years teaching health, science, PE, geography, and history in secondary schools. He spends his free time reading, writing, gardening, hiking, and serving in his church in various activities. Chris has been involved in the Boy Scout organization for more than eight years, and has done a lot of training in the outdoors. He lives in Utah with his family.
