Mittelständische Unternehmen kooperieren noch nicht im gro en Umfang im Sinne des ECR, obwohl gerade diesem Unternehmenstypus Möglichkeiten aufgezeigt werden, grö enbedingte Ressourcen- defizite ausgleichen zu können. Diese Untersuchung umrei t die aktuelle Situation der KMU und beschreibt inwiefern sie mit Hilfe des ECR - Ansatzes verbessert werden kann. Kernpunkt bildet nach der Auseinandersetzung mit den Basisstrategien als Grundlagen des ECR und den möglichen Erfolgspotenzialen die Frage, ob die Skepsis der KMU gegenüber dem ECR - Konzept gerechtfertigt ist oder nicht. Dafür werden die Erfolgsfaktoren des ECR den Besonderheiten der KMU gegenübergestellt, um festzustellen, unter welchen Bedingungen sie an den Vorteilen des Efficient Consumer Response partizipieren und wie bisher aufgetretene Probleme und Defizite in der Umsetzung vermieden werden können.
