Jumeau You have brought to me nothing but pain and disappointment. You cannot hold down a job. You have no friends. You hate the world for no more reason than that it has the gall to exist. You are just so indifferent towards all the things that you are supposed to love and so full of vitriol for things you don't even know. You are a man of many rooms, Jumeau, each of them closed off from the others so that there is never any conflict within or without. You keep your feelings stored in unopened boxes that lie dusty upon the floors of these rooms and, unless you are willing to open them, I fear that you will always be alone and fear that you think this the right way to be. It is not.Jumeau awakens one day to the sound of knocking at his door. With fear and trepidation, he opens it and thus begins the journey of discovery that he needs to finally make himself complete. And what a journey it is. He takes us through the world of his city at night, Jazz, champagne and crab on the coast, scarred acquaintances and sexual misadventures and the bizarre events that he must go through if he is to finally find the real Jumeau.

Chris Bradbury was born in 1962. He attended schools in Bracknell, Windsor, Mauritius and Bloxham and, despite all these, failed to learn a thing. He spent his formative years in a cocoon and failed to see the time go by. When he woke up, he realised that it was too late. He has been a shop worker, a hospital porter, worked in medical records, in the CSSD department, as an estate agent, as a nurse, as a delivery driver, a bus driver and as a teaching assistant. He lives in Yorkshire. He is married to a lady and has some lady children. He loves them. He has always wanted to write or act or do something that brings him praise and attention. Sadly, he has always been average. He is also the author of: The Stilling of the Heart Shorts - A collection of novellas Condition of Life - The Poetic Confessions of a Grumpy Old Man The Ghost of Dormy Place and Other Tales The High Commissioner's Wife Looking For the Light The Ashes of an Oak A Kind and Gentle Man Praxis (Sci-Fi Fantasy - with Ian Makinson) Praxis - Part Two: Regeneration Paradox (Sci-Fi Fantasy - with Ian Makinson) Praxis - Part 3 The Liar's truth - (Sci-Fi Fantasy - with Ian Makinson) Earthbound Earthbound Part Two - Hellbound Chine (Horror) Uncomfortably Numb (Play) The Scarlet Darter (fiction for children) Unton's Teeth and Other Tales of Wordful Mystification (poems for children) A Beginner's Guide to the Wars of the Roses A Beginner's Guide to Creative Writing A Beginner's Guide to Death
