So soll ein Zusammenhang dieser beider Konstituenten untersucht, mögliche Korrelationen festgestellt und folgende Fragestellung beantwortet werden: "Wie und in welcher Art sind Empathie und die Einstellung zu Migration in der Bevölkerung ausgeprägt und existiert eine Korrelation der beiden Koeffizienten?" Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, lässt sich zu Beginn zunächst eine Darlegung des theoretischen Hintergrunds zu dieser Thematik finden, welcher die aktuelle Flüchtlingssituation in Deutschland beleuchtet, Ergebnisse aus vorherigen Studien zu verwandten Themen referiert und mögliche Implikationen und Tendenzen, die erste Anhaltpunkte zur Beantwortung der Forschungsfrage liefern, nennt. Die Ergebnisse der Befragungen nehmen in dieser Arbeit allerdings einen ebenso hohen Stellenwert ein wie das Ergebnis der Korrelationsuntersuchung selbst und diese sind somit alles andere als redundant. Schlie lich sind sie die Basis dieser Untersuchung, auch wenn das Warum des Zusammenhangs durch sie nicht geklärt und in dieser Arbeit aufgedeckt werden kann. Im nächsten Schritt wird die angewandte Methode dargestellt sowie die Resultate diskutiert. In diesem Kontext folgt eine Darlegung der Umfrageergebnisse zum Thema Migration, der Zusammenhänge zwischen den Variablen Empathie und Migrationsansichten sowie der Geschlechter- und Altersdifferenzen und der Differenzen der wirtschaftlichen Verhältnisse.
