Ziele der organisch-chemischen Reaktionen: Synthese be- stimmter Verbindungen oder Konstitutionsermittlung organischer Substanzen durch Abbau; ferner: Charakterisierung organischer Verbindungen durch Derivate, eingehenderes Studium gewisser Reaktionen (zur Aufklärung des Chemismus derselben oder zwecks Ausarbeitung bestimmter Darstellungsverfahren, insbesondere von technischer Bedeutung) usw. I. Prinzipien der organischen Synthese. a.) Die Kondensation als synthetisches Hauptprinzip. Bedeutung: Darstellung von Verbindungen mit neuen C-Bin- dungen; daher Gewinnung neuer Stammkörper. In den meisten Fällen Anwendung von Kondensationsmitteln erforderlich.
