Neben dem konventionellen Ring-Zwirnverfahren hat sich das Doppeldraht-Zwirnver- fahren in grö erem Umfang zur Verarbeitung von Fasergarnen einführen können. Es ermöglicht die Erzeugung gro er knotenfreier Fadenlängen und gestattet die Anwen- dung relativ hoher Liefergeschwindigkeiten, da dem Faden bei einem Spindelumlauf zwei Drehungen erteilt werden. Das vorliegende Forschungsvorhaben wurde von der Industrie angeregt. Es befa t sich mit Fragen des Ausfalls der Zwirne hinsichtlich Festigkeit und Dehnung, der Drehungsverteilung, der Garnbeanspruchung während der Verarbeitung, die sich durch eine störende Staubbildung aufzeigt. Vergleichend wurden in die Untersuchungen auch Zwirne einbezogen, für deren Her- stellung das Z weistufen-Verfahren (V orzwirn- und Auszwirnmaschine) und das Ring- Zwirnverfahren zur Anwendung kam. An der Durchführung der Arbeiten im praktischen Betrieb und im Laboratorium, und an der Ausfertigung des vorliegenden Berichtes haben au er den Autoren mitgewirkt: Textil-Ing. (grad.) H. v. d. WEYDEN und die Textillaborantinnen K. LAUMEN und E. FEIKE. Ganz besondere Unterstützung haben die Untersuchungen durch die Mitwirkung von Herrn Dr. RIEBER (Farbwerke Hoechst) erfahren, der einen Teil der analytischen Arbeiten durchführte. Au erdem leistete Herr Dr. RIEBER wertvolle Hilfe bei der Ab- fassung des vorliegenden Berichtes. 2. Allgemeine Betrachtungen Aus der Literatur sind eine Reihe von Veröffentlichungen bekannt, die das Doppeldraht- Zwirnverfahren zum Gegenstand haben. Im folgenden ist der Versuch gemacht, aus diesen Veröffentlichungen einen kurzen zusammenfassenden Überblick über das Prinzip des Doppeldrahtzwirnens und damit zusammenhängende Probleme zu gewinnen. Da- bei wird, insbesondere bezüglich der letzten Neuerungen auf dem Maschinensektor, nicht der Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit erhoben.
