Die Ereignisse, die sich in Deutschland mit weltweiter Resonanz in der j�ngsten Vergangenheit im Horizont des Themas "Ausl�nder" abgespielt haben und die Kommunikation dar�ber auf allen gesellschaftlichen und politischen Ebenen haben gezeigt, da das schon viel w�re. Dieser durchaus vorsichtigen Zielsetzung dient dieses Buch. Es geht also keineswegs darum, sachliche Auseinandersetzungen dar�ber f�r gegenstandslos zu erkl�ren, warum, wie und in welchem Umfang Ausl�nder in die Gesellschaft der Bundesrepublik integriert werden k�nnen und sollen. Jeder Versuch, die L�- sung der damit verbundenen Probleme durch Direktiven und Verhaltensempfeh- lungen "von oben" zu erzwingen, ist zum Scheitern verurteilt. Eine Aufgabe, die die tagt�gliche Mitwirkung nahezu aller - der Deutschen wie der Ausl�nde- erfordert, kann nicht �ber deren K�pfe hinweg bew�ltigt werden. Die politische Auseinandersetzung �ber die richtigen Wege geh�rt daher dazu. Wichtig ist vor allem Differenzierung. "Die" Ausl�nder gibt es nicht.
