Los autores: Silvia Burunat obtuvo su doctorado de The Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Es profesora de español en The City College of New York. Sus campos de investigación se concentran en la historia de la lengua castellana, sociolingüística, la enseñanza de español a hablantes bilingües, literatura hispánica de Estados Unidos y literatura de memorias, autobiográfica y testimonial. Es autora de varios libros y artículos y co-editora de Veinte años de literatura cubano-americana (1988). Sus últimos libros son: El español y su evolución (1999), El español y su sintaxis (Ed. Rev. 2000), El español y su estructura (Ed. Rev. 2002), Jornada de amor y lágrimas (2006), Josefa y Josefina (2007), Monólogos dialogados (2008) y Autobiografía póstuma (2009).
Ángel L. Estévez obtuvo su doctorado de The Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Actualmente funge como profesor asistente en la Facultad de Lenguas Extranjeras en The City College of New York y dirige el programa de maestría en español en dicha institución. Entre sus publicaciones destaca su tesis doctoral titulada La modalidad fantástica en el cuento dominicano del siglo XX. Sus campos de especialización son las literaturas hispanoamericana y del Caribe hispano.
Aleksín H. Ortega trabaja como profesor adjunto de lengua española en The City College of New York, donde obtuvo su M.A. en lengua y literatura españolas. Actualmente realiza estudios doctorales en The Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
