Tres mil millones de personas hablan en el planeta una lengua indoeuropea difundida por la colonizaci�n. No existe un real consenso sobre el origen de estas lenguas, pero s� un punto de convergencia: el euskera, una de las m�s viejas lenguas del continente europeo, no tendr�a ninguna relaci�n con ellas y todo parecido ser�a fruto de los pr�stamos tomados a las lenguas de su entorno. La tesis de doctorado en ling��stica de E�aut Etxamendi viene a contradecir esta hip�tesis. Comparando el euskera con las viejas lenguas indoeuropeas, esta tesis no s�lo hace resaltar las importantes similitudes que las unen, sino que introduce una nueva mirada sobre su l�xico y gram�tica, hasta tal punto que nos podemos preguntar cu�l fue la real aportaci�n del euskera a las lenguas indoeuropeas. Con este libro pretendemos vulgarizar el contenido de la tesis, es decir, hacerla accesible a la gran mayor�a, gracias a un vocabulario exento de los t�rminos cultos de la ling��stica y a una presentaci�n l�dica. Cada cual podr� hacerse as� su propia opini�n.

Etchamendy, Arnaud: - Eñaut Etxamendi es escritor y compositor vasco, muy conocido par su prosa, sus poemas y sus canciones en euskera. Agrónomo, licenciado en Ciencias económicas y políticas. Conocedor del latín y del griego. Para profundizar su idioma materno, preparó y obtuvo un doctorado de lingüística sobre la comparación de las raíces del euskera con las de viejas lenguas indoeuropeas. Es el autor de la tesis de referencia. Txomin y Fina Davant, amigos de Eñaut, le han aportado su estrecha colaboración a la largo de la elaboración de su tesis. El euskera es la lengua materna de Txomin; Fina, gallega de origen, licenciada en Filología románica por la Universidad de Madrid, aprendió el euskera, habla varias lenguas románicas y el griego moderno. Roger Courtois, specialista de Internet, amante del euskera, solicitado para divulgar la tesis en la red, pensó que era necesario ir más allá en su difusión y dio forma a este libro.
