El Narciso en su opinión es una obra teatral del dramaturgo español Guillén De Castro, uno de los principales exponentes del Siglo de Oro de la literatura española. Esta obra se centra en el retrato de un galán presuntuoso y narcisista, un petimetre que está constantemente absorto en su propia imagen. Es un personaje que se muestra pagado de sí mismo y, en cierto sentido, algo provinciano, siempre pendiente de su espejo y de su presunta capacidad para seducir.

La Jornada primera nos introduce a Don Gutierre y su lacayo Tadeo, que en un diálogo humorístico y satírico exponen las frivolidades del protagonista. Gutierre está obsesionado con su apariencia, hasta el punto de que se mete en discusiones con su lacayo sobre su ropa y sus zapatos. Tadeo, por su parte, aprovecha cada oportunidad para burlarse de las manías de su señor, haciendo comentarios mordaces que demuestran la superficialidad de Gutierre.

El personaje de Gutierre simboliza el extremo del narcisismo y la obsesión en una sociedad que valora en gran medida las apariencias. Tadeo, con su sarcasmo y su ingenio, actúa como un contrapunto que resalta aún más la vanidad de su amo. Su carácter irónico también sirve para cuestionar la superficialidad y el materialismo que a menudo dominan las relaciones sociales, mostrando que la auténtica sustancia de una persona va más allá de su fachada exterior.

Esta obra, en su sencillez, ofrece una crítica aguda de una sociedad obsesionada con las apariencias y pone en tela de juicio los valores que sostienen tales obsesiones. A través de diálogos ingeniosos y personajes bien construidos, Guillén de Castro consigue que el espectador reflexione sobre la vanidad y la futilidad de vivir una vida centrada únicamente en uno mismo.
