En la moderna y aparentemente id�lica residencia para mayores, "Los Jardines del Crep�sculo", los ancianos disfrutan de un ambiente impecable y servicios tecnol�gicos de �ltima generaci�n. Sin embargo, detr�s de las paredes de cristal y los jardines perfectos, se esconde un sistema fr�o y calculador que prioriza el negocio sobre la humanidad. Los gestores del lugar emplean un pol�mico m�todo llamado "hidrop�nico", que reduce las comidas a una f�rmula l�quida sin sabor, dise�ada para proporcionar �nicamente las calor�as esenciales. Este m�todo no solo despoja a los residentes de su placer m�s b�sico, sino que simboliza su p�rdida de dignidad y autonom�a.
La historia comienza cuando Isabel, una residente de esp�ritu indomable y viuda reciente, empieza a notar inconsistencias en las promesas de la residencia y el comportamiento del personal. Su curiosidad la lleva a descubrir un oscuro secreto: los gestores han instaurado un sistema que extrae el 80% de las pensiones de los residentes mientras los mantiene al borde de la inanici�n emocional y social.
Al descubrir estos abusos, Isabel une fuerzas con otros residentes, cada uno cargando sus propios traumas y resentimientos. Juntos, comienzan a planear una rebeli�n que les permita recuperar no solo su dignidad, sino tambi�n su humanidad. Los cap�tulos narran la evoluci�n de este levantamiento, donde los ancianos enfrentan no solo la opresi�n de la administraci�n, sino tambi�n sus propios miedos y fragilidades.
A medida que el plan avanza, la residencia se convierte en un escenario de caos y horror. Los ancianos usan los propios recursos del lugar para sabotear el sistema: desactivan las m�quinas de control, manipulan las c�maras de vigilancia y, en un cl�max espeluznante, convierten los jardines en trampas para enfrentar a sus opresores. La batalla final entre los ancianos y los gestores se desarrolla en medio de un sangriento enfrentamiento que transforma los jardines perfectos en un paisaje de venganza y redenci�n.
El desenlace de la novela es inesperadamente luminoso. A pesar del sufrimiento, los ancianos logran tomar el control de la residencia, convirti�ndola en un refugio donde la verdadera comunidad y el respeto mutuo florecen. Isabel, aunque marcada por las cicatrices del pasado, se convierte en un s�mbolo de resistencia y esperanza para los dem�s.
